Proposed changes from GCSEs

29 June 2012

Generally any changes to GCSE's will affect Citizenship studies in the same way that other examinations are affected. If we are to believe the papers then there would be a hierarchy in exams; maths, science, English and then the rest. How the other subjects might be described is not clear. In general, much of what was leaked last week lacked real detail and may even be a political ploy without real foundation. It is unlikely that such massive changes could happen before the next election-which may be sooner rather than later anyway.

It is more important to keep an eye on curriculum changes in key stages 1-2 first and then secondary. We know something of the changes for primary-except the detail affecting Citizenship and PSHE and as yet there has been no government response to proposals for secondary-excepting that which was in the GCSE leak last week.

As always, keep an eye on the ACT news page on the front of our website for the latest news.
