New Amnesty Teacher CPD programme from Amnesty International

11 September 2012

Are you a teacher with a passion for human rights, equality and justice?

Do you believe that human rights education can transform learning, empowering young people to be agents of change?

Are you looking for a way to grow professionally, strengthening skills in teaching, training and project management?

Integrating human rights education into your teaching can transform your classroom, improving learning whilst helping your students discover their capacity to become agents for change. As an Amnesty Teacher you will be an advocate for human rights education and activism in your school and beyond.

You will:

Gain knowledge and skills to deliver effective human rights education and provide pupils with exciting opportunities to engage with key global issues.

Develop and deliver your own human rights education project that will make a lasting different to your school and pupils, with the support of a network of like-minded educators.

Be supported in preparing and delivering continuing professional development in which you share your learning with teachers in your school and other schools.

Training will take place through three Saturday sessions. In addition you will have the options of two webinars and a weekend training in effective campaigning. All face to face sessions are to be held at the Human Rights Action Centre in London.

Cost: £200

For more information, and an application form go to amnesty.org.uk/teachertraining.

Application: Deadline October 22nd.
