New Internationalist Young Citizens Edition

The October issue of New Internationalist magazine (www.newint.org) is dedicated to young active citizens globally, and is written by a collection of young writers up to the age of 25.
Contributors include Akala interviewing Sean Kuti, son of Nigerian musician and activist Fela Kuti; Jody McIntyre talking to Camila Vallejo, student leader in Chile; and Laurie Penny, zeitgeist young journalist, on "why selling out is no longer an option".
For the first time ever, the voices of young active citizens from Palestine to Hackney in London, Senegal to Chile, Quebec to Wall Street are all being heard together. As compelling as it is informative, this issue is going to remind your students of the value of their opinions, how vital it is that they are heard and how their generation is already shaping the future.
