DCSF Citizenship CPD Certificate courses in the East and West Midlands

Big Saturday Citizenship CPD Certificate meeting.

The final Big Saturday for the Midlands hub venue is Saturday September 18th Jurys Inn, Broad street, Birmingham. You can find the venue at Jurys Inn . Don Rowe will lead this session, which will include the presentations.

The Portfolio must be handed in on September 27th. Course members should ensure that they have completed the following aspects

1. Complete the SKP and outline an action plan for Citizenship education from the SKP

2. A Scheme of Work covering a minimum of three lessons involving an NGO or other partner and eveidence of observation of teaching the work. Please include any teaching resources with the Scheme of Work

3. The evaluation of Citizenship education at their institution using the ACT SET

4. Evidence of a presentation to peers, senior leaders or others in their institution on the findings from the evaluation or an aspect of the evaluation-usually to be found in the final matrix at the back of the SET

5. Evidence of a the presentation to course members about an aspect of Citizenship education-usually derived from the school evluation, the lesson planning or SKP/action plan

5. A reflective piece of writing about the value and importance of Citizenship education.

Derbyshire Crown Prosecution Service has piloted some innovative Citizenship education resources

The Crown Prosecution Service works hard to stop criminals and punish them for their crime. Find out what it means to be a Prosecutor and fight crime. From working with the police to standing up in court, Prosecutors are Champions of Justice. Derbyshire CPS working with LA Citizenship education adviser Brian Cavanagh have developed some exciting resources to use. ACT is proud to be associated with these.
