Join our workshop and build your confidence in teaching all things elections and voting for the 2024 General Election

How to teach voting and Elections 101

Teaching pupils about voting can be an engaging way to convey topics relevant to young people that also support many school policies. However, teaching about elections can also feel overwhelming if it is not your subject specialism.

This free online session will explore practical strategies pedagogy to make your lessons engaging and effective. Led by experienced educators Kelly Allchin (Assistant Principal, Leeds City Academy) and Zoe Baker (ACT's Head of Education and Professional Development), the workshop provides a supportive environment to overcome challenges and build your confidence in handling teaching about voting and elections with impartiality. You'll leave with fresh ideas for the next day, a stronger grasp of the subject matter, and improved teaching skills.

During this session participants will be able to see how some of ACT’s new freely available learning material can support your teaching, and ask questions in a supportive environment.
