Expert-Led Webinar - Teaching Economic and Finance Education
This subject knowledge enhancement session is led by Ann Whittaker, from the Bank of England's Education team. Ann will outline the history and development of the Bank; its main roles within the economy; its relationship to the UK Government today as well as the Bank's role within the financial system.
In addition learn about the Bank's education resources for primary and secondary aged pupils as well as the Bank's Ambassador programme offering talks to UK state secondary schools. This session will be an important introduction to Economic and Financial Education as part of the Citizenship programme of study - so definitely not to be missed.
Ann Whittaker is an Education Analyst who works as part of a team responsible for the Bank of England’s Outreach & Education Programme.
She helped to develop a series of teaching resources, linked to the various national curriculum, in order to help young people understand more about money, the economy and what the Bank does. She also coordinates the Bank Ambassador outreach programme to state secondary schools across the UK.
Prior to this she managed the Target 2.0 Interest Rate Challenge – the monetary policy competition run successfully by the Bank for 17 years.
