About this event

Like any other National Curriculum subject, it’s vital that our students make sustained progress in Citizenship throughout their schooling. This workshop will equip teachers with the skills to assess them accurately.

In this workshop, Craig Wright, an experienced Citizenship teacher and Assistant Vice Principal explains ACT’s assessment framework and how you can apply it to your students’ work.

  • Discussing and analysing with expert colleagues how to identify possible misconceptions and planning how to prevent these forming.
  • Linking what pupils already know to what is being taught (e.g. explaining how new content builds on what is already known). 

CPD strand – Introduction to Citizenship

This strand is designed for anybody who is new to the subject, from ITE trainees to experienced teachers who are teaching Citizenship for the first time. These events will allow participants to develop their understanding of the core substantive knowledge of the subject, key concepts and best practice in pedagogy.
