The new membership packages will not impact any current paid membership benefits; all the resources/benefits you previously accessed are carried over (or indeed) upgraded on the new website. We are still in the process of refreshing some resources with our new look, and updating the content where necessary. Any resources that are deemed to be outdated will not be transferred until they are accurate, however, we will make these reference documents available in case anyone requests them. As an Individual member you will continue to benefit from either free or discounted rates for CPD sessions (as before), so you are encouraged to upgrade to an Organisation or School and College membership (which enables your entire teaching team to benefit from unlimited access).  

We are making improvements to our membership packages (and the website) in order for us to better support schools to embed quality Citizenship provision. This will be achieved by providing tailored support and comprehensives resources and training for teachers irrespective of their experience and confidence of delivering Citizenship education. In building a larger subject community for Citizenship, we can share the benefits of Citizenship’s unique value across the curriculum, culture and community of the school, and beyond. We hope that by bringing more teachers into the fold and providing a broad programme of CPD, even more young people will benefit from quality teaching and learning. With these strategic changes, ACT can embrace a more sustainable income model so it can advocate for the subject at a national level and represent the views of our members to policymakers now, and long into the future.

We want to ensure that our members are supported in their commitment to Citizenship and rewarded for their loyalty. This is why we have switched from multi-year memberships to a renewal discount – which offers a more generous 25% off when members re-subscribe. Our members are our core beneficiaries and the reason we exist. It’s vital that we listen to our members and continue to evolve and grow with them, for them. As such we will be doing more to engage and support our growing membership over the months and years ahead.
