CPD sessions, webinars and conferences during autumn term 2021
We run a series of events throughout the year, led by experienced subject specialists, to support your teaching and planning of citizenship education. Whether you are new to citizenship, a trained specialist or anywhere in-between, ACT is here to support you with authoritative guidance and high quality, updated resources. With schools increasingly making links to the cross-cutting value of citizenship education, it is an exciting time for teachers to get involved with us and benefit from our evolving support and membership offers.

Climate Crisis: Does Citizenship education hold the key?
Marking UK Parliament Week and the start of our 20th anniversary year, ACT and UK Parliament Education and Engagement are running a conference on sustainable citizenship.
Over a period of three days we will explore the role of teachers and schools in addressing the climate crisis through Citizenship education. Participants will hear from Lord Knight and the education bill on sustainable citizenship (which aims to introduce compulsory climate change education within Citizenship), develop ideas on how to bring the law-making processes alive using this case study, and come away with teaching strategies to approach these issues actively in the classroom.

Our Early Careers Network sessions aim to support Early Careers teachers and new to citizenship teachers. The sessions align to the Early Career Framework and set out to support with challenging areas.
