Teaching Citizenship Conference 2022: Future proofing your curriculum

Post date:
Tue, 12/04/2022 - 14:45

The ACT Teaching Citizenship Conference will take place on 5th July, at Mary Ward House, London (Russell Square), and is for all teachers, specialist and non specialist, and educators to come together, develop skills and knowledge and share best practice within Citizenship education.
Whether you are part of a larger team, coordinating activities across the curriculum, or leading the subject alone, the Conference is the place that brings the community together.

The theme for this year's Conference is:

Future-proofing your Citizenship curriculum to achieve transformative outcomes

The conference invites reflection on the overwhelming challenges facing the next generation, and how the Citizenship curriculum can support transformational outcomes; ensuring young people are equipped with the knowledge and skills to shape their communities for good, and teachers are prepared to empower them to do so.

You will attend pedagogical, research-informed, and curriculum planning workshops delivered by key organisations, academics and expert teachers, and network with colleagues that are committed to raising the standard of Citizenship education.

You will leave with:

  • A better understanding of how to ensure your curriculum meets the needs of your learners
  • Provide you with practical ideas and teaching resources to use in your classroom
  • Prepare your school effectively for Ofsted
  • Develop key areas of the curriculum such as financial/economic education, media literacy, digital citizenship, and social injustice.

Delegates are welcomed to a drinks reception after the Conference to celebrate ACT's 20th Anniversary (5-6pm)
