Key stage 3 • Sustainablity and climate • Lessons
How sustainable is our future?
This lesson is part 1 of a two-lesson unit addressing the key enquiry: How can citizens work together for a more sustainable future?
This lesson aims to introduce students to the concept of sustainability. They will gain an understanding of the context of the Sustainable Development Goals as well as learn what was included in the 15 year plan set out by the UN. A range of changemakers are considered to identify how the development goals can be met whilst considering students’ personal responsibility in being accountable, active citizens.
Students will work towards answering the following questions:
- How does climate change relate to sustainability?
- What are the Sustainable Development Goals and how do they affect us?
- How can changemakers take action to address issues of sustainability?
