What is fraud and why does it matter to me? Lesson 1 of 4 (double lesson)
What is fraud and why does it matter to me? (Double lesson)
This lesson contains important content and we recommend that you allow a double lesson or two consecutive lessons. This lesson introduces students to fraud. They find out about its impact and explore different types of fraud. Through case studies of scams, they learn to identify fraud and how it is addressed in the Fraud Act 2006. Finally, they consider whether we should report fraud and start to explore careers in fraud prevention.
This Citizenship lesson supports work to promote the DfE’s British values and spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (SMSC); for example, exploring rights, responsibilities and our political and legal systems, and the consequences of behaviour.
This is the first in a series of four lessons and two assemblies on fraud, produced in association with the Home Office. Find more information and the full scheme of work here.
