What role can I play in the future of the UK economy?

This lesson is part 6 of a sequence of 6 lessons addressing the key enquiry: What has the UK economy got to do with me?

Students round off their learning in this unit of work by considering the benefits of a healthy economy and what we can all do as British citizens to influence the future of the UK economy. They begin by revisiting definitions of ‘the economy’, before exploring what makes a healthy economy and its benefits. Inspired by a case study, they consider what they can do to contribute to the UK economy. Finally, they discuss and advocate for different viewpoints in relation to their own role in the UK economy.

Students will work towards answering the following questions:
  1. What is the economy?
  2. What makes a healthy economy?
  3. What can British citizens do to support the UK economy?
  4. What has the UK economy got to do with me?
