'Let's get elected' is a set of teaching activities and resources for students to help develop knowledge and understanding of local democracy and elections using the context of electing the Mayor of London. Pupils explore the process of electoral campaigning to be a city mayor by working in teams to put together an election campaign.
The lesson was designed for use with year 7 and can be adapted for other age groups and election contexts.
This teaching resource was orginally developed by teachers at Blackfen Girls School and has been updated by ACT.
The ‘Make it Happen!’ Social Action Toolkit is designed for use by learners with activities and tips for organising successful social action undertaken as part of their citizenship curriculum.
This module will help participants consider the experience of student voice of all pupils. Does it reinforce or undermine their Citizenship teaching? It may be positive or negative but it will not be neutral. This training session gives an understanding of what linking Citizenship and student voice might mean in participants’ schools, and helps them to understand and benefit from this interdependence. You can download this module here.
Junior urgent actions are monthly appeals which have been specially designed for young people aged 7-11 working with the help of an adult (usually a parent or teacher). The actions are part of Amnesty's worldwide letter-writing campaign on behalf of victims of human rights violations.
