FAQs

If you have set up an account with ACT but are unable to access it, we would recommend the following:

1. Check your login details are correct, as after six attempts your profile is temporarily frozen to prevent account hacking
2. Can’t remember your password? Request a password reset on the login page and an account recovery email will be sent to the registered email address. (You might need to check your junk email.)
3. If you still cannot access your account, please contact us using the contact form linked below.

If you have a School & College membership, the lead teachers on your account will be able to add colleagues to your account (up to 20 in total). To add colleagues, we recommend the following:

1. If you are the account lead, simply invite and remove colleagues via your My Account section.
2. Not the account lead? Contact your school/college’s lead teacher to request to be added.
3. If you or your colleagues cannot identify the account lead, use the contact us form and we’ll put you in touch.

If you would like to upgrade from e-member to one of our paid memberships: i) Individual, ii) School & College, or iii) Organisational membership, please visit our membership page to purchase the new package.

If you currently have an Individual membership and would like to upgrade it to an Organisational or School & College membership, please use the contact form and we will help you through the process.

Processing membership payments includes several manual steps. If you have not received a confirmation email within 2 days of submitting a remittance advice (from your school/college), or paying by card, please use the contact form to get in touch.

If you are setting up a membership for the first time, we request that this is done through our Join us page. Through the sign up process you will be able to request payment by invoice. Once the sign up is complete, an automated email will be sent to both ACT and yourself to notify both parties. Once this email has been received, you are welcome to submit a Purchase Order and we will update the invoice with the PO number within five working days and will re-send the invoice.

If logging in to the website, the first screen you will see is the My Account page (see image below). This main page is blank but the links on the left hand side will provide all the information you need regarding your membership. To access other pages included events and resources, click on the links at the top of the page, as normal.

ACT is very happy to work with MATs in order to ensure high quality Citizenship provision across trusts. As such, we offer tailored discounts to MATs and handle each membership directly. In order to set up membership for your MAT, please fill in the MAT Membership Request Form.

We are more than happy to provide a sample resource pack for individuals needing to make such presentations to their school, academy or MAT leadership. Please use our contact form to make the request.

There could be several reasons why this is happening.

• Firstly, your membership package may not have access to the resource in question; this is especially the case for our Model Core Curriculum resources for KS4 (with KS3 coming soon). In this case, we recommend checking your My Account page and clicking on Manage Memberships on the left hand side. If it is displaying a current organisational membership, but you still cannot access the resource, then please get in touch with us. Our organisational membership package includes access to all ACT resources and provides the best value for money for schools.
• Secondly, your My Account page may not be showing any membership package at all, or a free e-membership (which has limited resource access). If you believe this information is incorrect, please contact us to update your account.
• Lastly, if your My Account page is showing multiple current memberships, this may cause issues with your access to resources. In this case, please contact us to resolve the problem.

The new ACT website was launched in September 2022. At the same time, the bulk of our existing resources were updated and refreshed to coincide with the launch. However, not all resources were brought onto the new website and some of them may have been taken down or integrated into other, new, resources.

To find a resource, we recommend using different key words, key stage tags or simply searching for all resources. Our resource library is growing all the time and it is likely the resource you are looking for will be there.
