Membership Administrator vacancy

We're looking to appoint a new Membership Administrator to support our growing community of teachers and educators

Job vacancy: Membership Administrator vacancy

We are currently seeking a Membership Administrator to join our charity. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and agencies to provide exemplary customer service to members, with timely and effective support.

What is The Association for Citizenship Teaching (ACT)?

Our vision is for all young people to be equipped through effective Citizenship education to become active, informed citizens who can participate in democratic life. ACT is the subject association for Citizenship teachers. It achieves its aim by providing membership services and education programmes, while representing teachers and others involved in Citizenship education both across the UK and overseas.

ACT provides expert advice, training, conferences and resources to support the provision of quality Citizenship education. Beyond advocating for the subject, it also supports subject research, and offers strategic policy advice.

What’s the main purpose of the Membership Administrator role?

  • To help recruit, assist and retain ACT members by providing exemplary membership administration and customer service via email, phone and through our website
  • Help ACT build relationships with teachers and organisations by proactively managing member accounts and problem-shooting issues
  • Accurately monitor and record member activities and payments on our systems, and ensure regular updates and insights are shared with the team

The role will suit someone with a friendly and helpful disposition. Someone with experience of working in a customer-focused environment, or a busy membership organisation and may have had some experience of working with finance – although this is not necessary as full training will be given. It may also support someone with an interest or appreciation of the education system.

Benefits

In addition to a salary of £24-£30,000 (depending on experience), 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a 6% employer pension contribution, you will also gain access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and flexible working arrangements.

Applications have now closed.
