Membership renewals

Why the change?
After more than a decade, ACT recently secured some strategic support to fund a new, modern website that will be able to serve our members with greater efficiency and ease. Beyond updating many of our existing membership services and resources, we are also evolving in new ways to better embed citizenship education in schools. We will also be trialling new ways to capture teachers’ voices in our representation of the Citizenship teaching community to government and policy-influencers.

What will happen to my membership?
When you renew you will be able to access everything you currently benefit from, but with some additional extras from September. The improvements are most noticable for our organisation/school members, as the revamped package is aimed at schools that are committed to embedding quality Citizenship teaching and learning. View the new packages and prices for existing members below, and remember these benefits will apply from September 2022. Furthermore, as a gesture of goodwill we will extend the membership expiry date until 31st August 2023, for anyone renewing their membership before 1st September 2022. Make sure you sign into the website to renew today.

Inclusive CPD will be available to all organisation/school members from September 2022 to August 2023, to celebrate 20 years of Citizenship in the national curriculum. This will be automatically applied when booking CPD sessions throughout the year (online courses and conferences are not included).

New look coming - same mission
As part of ACT’s 20th anniversary celebrations this year, you will also see some changes to our brand identity from September. This was a carefully taken decision that benefitted from free consultancy from a specialist brand agency, and involved representatives from key stakeholders throughout the process. Although our logo and web presence is changing, please be assured that our mission remains the same. We want to ensure quality Citizenship education exists as an entitlement for every young person in school, and the teaching community feels empowered and confident to teach the Citizenship subject’s unique knowledge, concepts and skills. The website is due to launch in the new academic year, offering you the ability to easily search for resources, access policy and guidance information and keep up to date with all things Citizenship.

New for 22/23 - Core model curriculum
We are releasing a KS4 model curriculum; designed using up-to-date academic and pedagogical research, the model curriculum aims to provide you with a complete understanding of best practice curriculum planning and lesson delivery.
