Key stage 3 • Politics, Parliament and Government • Lessons

How Influential is the Head of State?

This lesson sets out to outline the role, power, and influence of the Head of State, and contemplate the personal service of The Queen over the last seventy years. It is aimed at years 9-10.
Students will touch upon the background of the current royal family (the Windsors), the conception of the Commonwealth, and explore key historical events that have shaped the Head of State role, and modern Britain.

Thank you to Jane Haynes, ACT Ambassador, who provided the foundations of the lesson.
