50th Issue of Teaching Citizenship

We are excited to announce the arrival of the 50th edition of the Teaching Citizenship journal in secondary schools!

This issue is kindly supported by the Money and Pension Advice Service, and all our packaging is sustainable. Our theme 'Economic and Financial Education through Citizenship' is highly topical, featuring articles on 'Challenging Stereotypes on Economics' and 'Global Citizenship; Building Bridges between Japan and the UK.' Enjoy reading and do tweet or email us any articles that particularly caught your eye- your feedback is very valuable to us.

Tuesday December 10th is Human Rights Day. Check out our past journal issue on Human Rights in citizenship education, with articles on 'Speaking Truth to Power: Human Rights Defenders' by Lee Jerome and Liz Moorse.

Amnesty International's Write for Rights project is hosting ongoing workshops across the UK, follow this link to see if there is one in your local area. If so encourage students to get involved and add their voices to the cause!

Farewells & Fresh Faces

Lastly, we said a fond farewell to Chris and Deepa earlier this term, both of whose long-standing commitment helped shaped ACT over many years. We welcome Camilla to our team, who was a former British Council teacher who joins as Membership and Events Coordinator. We also welcome Zoe Baker as our new Lead Secondary Adviser who will be developing our regional work and CPD offer. They are looking forward to working closely with you all.

We're keen to hear how you and your pupils are taking part in Election Activites. Send us a tweet @ACitizenshipT!
