20 lessons for 20 years - What happens in a youth court?

Key stage 3 (ages 11-14) • Law & The Justice System • Lesson and support materials

This lesson explores the Youth Court and investigates the roles of those within it and the specific rules with which these courts operate. It also considers sentencing that is available to the Justice system for 10-17 year olds. This lesson sits in a wider scheme of work about the youth criminal justice system and is part of our 20 lessons for 20 years collection.

This lesson is part of our 20 Lessons for 20 Years collection celebrating the fantastic work that is carried out every day in our Citizenship community of teachers.  Our teachers have shared their favourite lessons that encompass the knowledge, skills and understanding pupils develop through Citizenship education.
