GCSE 2019 results: Ten percent increase in GCSE Citizenship Studies
Exam results out today (22 August) show a 10% increase in the number of students who took the GCSE in Citizenship Studies this year. ACT congratulates teachers and pupils on their hard work.
Citizenship Studies is one of two non-Ebacc subjects to see a significant increase in numbers this year, and it is the second significant increase since the Department for Education phased out short course GCSEs and changed school performance tables. While this is good news for the subject, the number of pupils taking the qualification remains below 1% of the total cohort.
We will be providing further support to those teaching the GCSE, whether you are new or experienced. Details of GCSE surgeries via telephone and face to face sessions will be shared on our events, cpd and training page in the coming weeks.
